Parkour participants must run along a route, attempting to get over obstacles in the most efficient way possible, as if moving in an emergency situation. Skills such as jumping and climbing, or more specific parkour moves are employed. The objective is to move from one place to another using only human body and objects in the environment. The obstacles can be anything in one's environment, but parkour is often practiced in urban areas because of the availability of suitable public structures such as buildings and rails. Some one hundred thousand people are involved in parkour training in China. They communicate with each other via Internet and have formed over one hundred Parkour clubs.
